Do not make it a habit into asking questions right before a meeting is over

Today’s tip is for candidates that have a job or will get a job soon.

It is understandable that you would like to be noticed during meetings and conference calls, however it is quite unprofessional to get into the habit of asking a last minute question each time a meeting is wrapping up.

Make sure you follow the meeting and ask questions when it is appropriate. When the time is up or the conversation is over the meeting chair often asks if anyone has any questions. This is often a courtesy wrap up but not an opportunity for junior staff to ask questions and waste anyone’s time.

Not adhering to meeting schedule and timelines will make you look unprofessional. If you need any clarification simply approach the meeting chairperson and ask for a follow up.
